During the maintenance process, we strongly suggest that you seek out counseling and/or self-help meetings. Studies have shown a significant increase in long-term recovery when counseling/self-help therapy is concurrent with medication-assisted therapy. Suboxone also provides a safety profile that reduces the risk of respiratory depression and the abuse of Suboxone compared to other medication-assisted therapies such as methadone maintenance.
